Social Skills 101: How To Talk To Anyone And Build Connection
151: The most important skill in the age of AI.
Welcome reader! After a recent tweet about socializing and how to get better at it, which received over 90k views… The only right choice was to make the whole article about it. Better said, around the most important skill in the world of AI. Struggling to understand concepts and what socializing is all about? This post is for you.
Giveaway Winners
As promised in the previous article, we have decided to give out three yearly memberships. To keep things private and not publicly share the names - Substack is limited in that sense, and we don’t want to share other names publicly without anyone permission. The winners will be contacted directly via DM during the next 24 hours. We are mind blown by the kind of support we have. 150 done.. Much more to come.

Additional reading on social skills:
Idea here: This is not an advanced read on social skills or what you should do during an enterprise meeting with your client. Neither is this the 16-year-old 48 Laws of Power wet dream type of read. This post is a practical outline of what to focus on to make people feel good. Not just to make them feel good, but also for them to invite you again to whatever you were doing in the first place. We are writing posts such as this because social skills 1) will be the ultimate leverage as more people offload their lives to AI, and 2) because we have an epidemic of poor social skills. Meaning that it won't take much effort to be an outsider (or at least someone average). Everything in life that involves another side (human nature) comes down to social skills. Job interviews, friendships, clients, or relationships... Everything comes down to social skills. It is human nature for all of us to want other people to like and respect us. Since this is our third post on social skills and what one should do. We did our best to come up with fresh, perceptive, and practical advice on how to get better.
Starting position: It is hard for us to give one approach that works for everyone when writing posts such as this. Why? Because there is no single position. Everyone has a different starting point, and their situation is different. Undoubtedly, people reading this work in sales or already possess above-average social skills. On the other hand, people might have spent the last few years building their business without focusing much on social skills. Why mention this, and why does it matter? No matter what group you are in. You will still be able to get something from this read. In the worst-case scenario, you will confirm what you already understand.
What does it take? Practice: No matter how often you have heard us recommend books on social skills and body language basics… You will only improve your social skills and make socializing with others easier by doing more of it. Brute force, effort, and execution. However, you want to call it. No matter what you do or how you try to practice talking with others. The only way to get better is by doing more of it - if you don’t understand this concept… You will never get better.
