Luck Factor: Why, What, And How
Why: Before we continue further with this post and explain in detail how to get lucky. We felt obliged to mention the importance of luck. Luck is everywhere. The factor that participates in every single area of your life and directly dictates whether something will go in your favor or against you. The people you meet? Luck. Your romantic life? Luck. Your job? Luck. Your future business partner? Luck. Not 100% luck. But a solid percentage of it goes to luck. It doesn't take a genius to see that luck is everywhere and that we need it. It is a similar concept to energy. There is a big difference between those who are highly energetic and those who are not. The same applies to luck.
If you are one of those who doesn’t understand the concept we mentioned. You have a lot of work to do. It is a fundamental principle of a good life. Yet most don’t want to believe in it.
What: Now that you understand why it matters, or at least realize that you can’t escape luck and its influence. This leads us to the next set of problems (questions). Considering that you can’t escape it. The next logical realization is that you have to do everything you can to be in a better position than yesterday. Or at least luckier than yesterday. Ensuring you are always maximizing your luck and what comes with it. Worth mentioning that to get the most out of this. You will have to start observing what it is all about to the point where you realize what luck means for you. This is not an easy task and requires serious effort. Everyone has their own definition and meaning of luck, and to get the most out of this, you will have to figure out what it means for you.
Start observing. Have you ever paid attention to the people who are always complaining and claiming they are unlucky? What about those who do the opposite? Pay attention.
How: Without making this unnecessarily long. What do you want to do to get lucky? Wondering how to do it? The list is a bit long and requires multiple factors to work together. Start observing others, remove negative beliefs, realize that you are one lucky individual (to the point of brainwashing yourself), notice the things others around you can't, do the morning gratitudes, go out of your way, and stop playing the game in defensive mode. You get the point. Still not sure where to start? The first step? Realizing that you are already lucky.
Getting lucky becomes easy once you know what it takes.
Defining Luck
Luck is believing you are lucky. - Tennessee Williams
What is luck: There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Some would say it is either a positive outcome (good luck) or a negative outcome (bad luck). This is the most basic explanation, and what most people around you believe luck actually is. Our definition goes more on the side of an unpredictable alignment of elements. The universe does its thing, and next thing you know, you are in a position you were not before. Whatever it is, good or bad. The main reason most people see the unpredictable alignment of elements as random is that they don’t realize there are ways to reduce the randomness and make it work in their favor. If you are one of those who think that is simply not the case, and luck can’t be influenced. It would be best if you stop reading this right now and don’t waste your time. Because there are ways to rig the game in your favor.
How to define luck: This is where things get confusing for most. Some might say it is impossible to define luck and what it really means. Others will say that some are just born lucky and that luck is nothing but a byproduct of hard work. Everyone has their own idea of luck, as we already mentioned. What do we mean by luck, and what are some simple ways to catch it?
Being surrounded by the family that gave you everything and supported you along the way. This is already something that not everyone can say they have had the opportunity to experience. One of those? You are lucky.
If you are one of those individuals who can easily recognize what kinds of opportunities are available to them. Those who see the glass half full vs those who see the glass half empty. Some call it optimism. Others call it luck. The truth is somewhere in between. One of these? You are lucky.
Found yourself in a position where you managed to figure out what your talents are. The reality is that most people never get so lucky as actually to find out what they are good at. The earlier you find it in your life. The luckier you are. No one can deny this. Since the effects of it have a direct way to shape your future. One of those? You are lucky.
One of the tricks that luck might play on you (mixed with your family genes) comes down to the looks. Sort of those gifts you either have or you don’t. We could also categorize it under one of those lucky things you are born with. What do we mean by that? If you don’t look like a movie star, the chances are small that you will turn into Brad Pitt overnight. Being just above average already puts you miles ahead of others. One of those? You are lucky.
Have you ever stumbled upon life-changing material or something that resonates with you so hard you can’t stop thinking about it? Changes the whole trajectory of your life? As ridiculous as it sounds. Those things do happen, and nothing will ever be the same. Something inside you will click. And you will experience something that people who pay thousands of dollars to experience the same don’t (think spiritual retreats, personal coaches, etc.) One of those? You are lucky.
Environment. It is something we often mention when talking about lifestyle traps and how to avoid them. No one can deny that the environment and the people surrounding you have incredible power. The right environment gives you access to a group of people who hold different views on the world and how to solve the problem. It is a resource that doesn’t get enough recognition. The environment also brings the living location argument. The internet has flattened that argument quite a bit. But no one can deny that those born in the first world are much luckier compared to those born in the third world. Just based on the opportunities and connections you make along the way. One of those? You are lucky.
What about connections? We all know that one good connection or introduction can set you up for life. Job offers, friendships, partnerships, business, and your love life. There is a good chance that if you know the right people who know the people… You are playing the game on easy mode. How does this fall under the luck? Because over time, you realize that the way you have gotten to those people often comes down to the random events and the choices you take. That is also one of the main reasons why you want to get rich as soon as possible. To allow yourself to surround yourself with people who are on the same mission. One of those? You are lucky.
What about your health? Your luck game begins with your birth. Once you dive deeper into the whole topic and the statistics. You will come up with a rough number that 20% of newborns experience health issues. High percentage, if you take into consideration that it was simply all based on the hand you were dealt. Better said luck. Fast forward 30 years, and if you are not struggling with any serious health issues or problems. There is no other way but to be grateful for the situation you are in. Not something you should take for granted. One of those? You are lucky.
One more worth mentioning.
When you start reading about luck and what it really is. Better said, how others define luck and what it means for them. The argument that who you meet becomes an instigating one. Why? There are entire studies and beliefs suggesting that everyone you encounter in life is there for a reason. They hold a certain meaning for you. Concepts like Synchronicity (Jung), Karma (Buddhism), and even astrology support this idea. Not to go on a schizo rant here, since this is not everyone's thing. What most people don’t consider luck (but it is) is your ability to meet someone who can completely change your life. Same place, same time, same country, same needs, interests, and goals… What are the odds? It goes deep. Think about it.

What Luck Is Not
How not to define luck: Luck is not random. Luck is not guaranteed. Luck is not always positive. No matter how contradictory this might sound. Once you move past a certain point, you realize that luck can be influenced, and the reasons certain things have happened to you (that you might consider unlucky) are all there for a reason. They might actually be the luckiest option out of the other ones that might have happened. There is a big mindset shift when you start looking at "unlucky" things as something that potentially saved you from even worse situations. Remember the glass half full vs. half empty? It should make even more sense now. There are always two extremes. What luck is not?
Luck is not an excuse to avoid doing something or playing defense.
Luck is not passive
Luck is not random
Luck is not predictable
Luck is not magic (to a point)
Luck is not a reason for whatever you will do or not do
Luck is not an effort (it is just a support system)
Luck is not the main factor in someone's success
Luck is not fair
Getting Lucky
Your starting point: As with most of our mental work, practical work, or approaches on getting rich. The first step to becoming lucky, successful, and wealthy (or anything else you wish to become) is to eliminate negative beliefs and self-imposed limitations. Understand that there are no rules. Not just that, there are no rules. But everything works out in the end with some effort and a strong internal self-belief system. Being open-minded is the key to all mental work. The #1 requirement for you to get lucky in this work is to believe that influencing luck is possible. You can’t control luck, but you can do a lot of things to influence it. #2 requirement is the opportunistic mindset.
What luck requires: Opportunity. To get lucky, you have to expose yourself and create enough space for the luck to do its thing. Put yourself in situations where luck itself will have a space to do its magic. No one ever got lucky sitting at home watching TV. A lot of people got lucky by joining local golf clubs or other places where those with something going on spend their free time. You will have to figure out what kind of places (based on your geo-location) work the best. Pay attention to the pattern present throughout this post, and it will all start to make sense. The effort you put into creating opportunities for yourself + exposing yourself to the things you have not done before plays a big role in your luck level. Coming back to the right time, being surrounded by the right people and at the right place…
To take this one step further.
The lowest hanging fruit with high chances of your becoming lucky? Internet (social media), your Twitter profile, or YouTube. You get the point. Exposure is the name of the game. We are serious, and everyone who has been following us for a while knows this is not a joke. Our Twitter profile at this point is worth at least a million based on the connections and DMs. More so when you consider that the internet is turning P2P and that those invite-only groups can be life-changing for both knowledge and luck. The one area that will need a financial investment on your part? Clubs, private gyms etc… Both do have an impact on your luck (exposure), and both will require an investment from you. Our advice? Play both games to maximize your chances of getting lucky.
What It Takes To Get Lucky (+ Practical Advice)
Realize the importance of luck and how big a portion of your life it influences. This is something that anyone who has anything going for them won’t deny.
Luck never works based on binary thinking. Forget about extremes, it is always about the middle. When the right opportunity happens, then luck delivers.
Remove any negative associations with luck from your vocabulary. Stop saying how unlucky you are. It is the one thing you can change in the next 24 hours, and you will feel your life turn around. You are not unlucky. You are not stupid. You are not _____. Want luck to start working out in your favor? Remove any negative beliefs about yourself, and your life will get better
Realize that your scarcity and the place from which you are operating have a direct impact on your luck levels. Being afraid or scared? There is a good chance that Lady Luck won’t be on your side. Putting effort and betting on yourself? Lady Luck will find a way to support you.
Luck begins to favor you when you realize you need to put yourself in uncomfortable situations. Pick up that phone, send a risky message, offer help to a stranger, start the business you have always dreamt about, and don’t be afraid to ask for a raise. Luck favors the bold and those who take risks.
The above method from our Twitter works, and we encourage you to try it out tomorrow morning. It might change your life and become part of your routine.
Luck surface area. Understand it… It is important.
Similar to the concept of success. For you to be lucky. You first have to believe you are lucky. It is one of those principles that can help you bend reality to your will. What you think ultimately becomes reality.
Befriend luck and learn to love it for what it truly is.
Psyop yourself to a point where bad luck doesn’t exist for you. There is no bad luck. You just have not prepared yourself properly. When it comes to luck, you are always given a second chance to provide yourself with enough space to think about why it was actually a positive thought instead of a negative one.
Hard concept to grasp, and the one that you have complete influence over is that you always want to put yourself in the right place at the right time. This won’t happen if you are staying at home or playing defense.
The difference between amateur and pro is whether they recognize how fortunate they are. Or they don’t recognize at all.
Make it your routine to wish more people around you good luck. It doesn’t take anything from you. But it helps them. You will be rewarded with luck somewhere along the way.
Similar to the fortune. Luck favours the bold.
Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Cristiano Ronaldo… They all have their lucky protocols and charms. Why don't you?
Keep a list of what you are grateful for in your life. Reflect on it often. Get luckier. The big secret no one wants you to know about.
99% of the luck issues people around you face are fixed by doing more of the same. It is not that hard. Most have just never given thought to it.
Acknowledging the role that luck plays is a massive concept that most people never fully internalize. This doesn’t mean you can relax because luck will take care of everything. It means that no matter how ready you are, nothing is certain, and even a small shift in your luck could change your trajectory.
When you become obsessed with what you are doing. That is when the luck will find you.
When you start believing that you are lucky, that is when you will start doing the risky stuff. The risky stuff as such will work out in the end, and the result will be that you are even luckier. Or at least that is what everyone around you will think. Only you will know what it actually takes.
Once you start putting yourself out there and chasing the luck, that is when you can start looking at the luck from a mathematical perspective (sort of). What are the chances you will meet someone who might change your life in McDonald’s? There are chances no one can deny. What are the chances you will meet someone who might change your life in the fitness class? A bit higher than McDonald’s. Back to our golf example, what are the chances you will meet someone who will change your life at the golf club? Much higher compared to McDonald’s or a fitness class. Look for the pattern.
People you expose yourself to = opportunities you take = luck.Without investing your resources (mental, energy, time, money), you won’t be getting lucky. Mental = remove negative self-beliefs. Energy = believe that getting luckier is possible in the first place. Time = it is not a visible ROI, and the process simply takes time. Money = to meet the right kind of people you will have to be prepared to invest your money.
Never classify yourself as unlucky. You are alive.
The Secret To Winning Anything (Conclusion)
Actionable steps on how to get lucky:
Realize how lucky you are. You are healthy. You are good-looking. You are born into the right environment. You have a family that cares for you. The game has been rigged in your favor since day 1.
You are never "unlucky" - remove this from your vocabulary.
Start paying attention to what separates the lucky ones from the unlucky ones. Are those lucky ones really lucky? Or are they just bending reality to their will + creating opportunities that make them lucky?
Ask yourself every day, what have you done today to make yourself lucky?
Understand that to get lucky, you need to EXPOSE yourself to the right environment, people, circle, and moments. No one gets lucky sitting on the couch watching TV or playing games.
To increase your chances of getting lucky, you need to invest time, money, energy, and work on your mental models. Without this, nothing will succeed, and you should remind yourself of this every day.
Remember that luck can be created.
Conclusion: Opportunities = luck. Not playing life in defensive mode = luck. Believing in yourself and removing negative associations = luck. Will you be able to rely 100% on luck in your life? No. Will it play a massive role in bringing you up? Absolutely. Everyone reading this should understand that it is not that technical, and neither is it complex when you think about it. It is a controllable factor (to a large extent) that everyone can influence. The problem? Most people don’t know how to influence it. Luckily, you are not one of them. Good luck.
