Internet Is Turning Pay 2 Play And What It Means For You
94: Want an advantage? You will be paying for it.
Welcome reader! Before going forward, we recommend you do what we have outlined in our first public meme coin bet and double down on it. Alts coins are down, so this is a solid opportunity to buy more at a discount…
Back to the main topic.
Today, we are discussing quite a sensitive topic. It is sensitive because 80% of the internet is entitled to free information. That was true five to seven years ago when the internet was a different place. Today?
Everyone is trying to make a quick buck off you.
Things are different, and no one can deny it. Add to that AI generic content, which is present everywhere, and you are in for the ride. We can all agree that…
The glory days of the internet are behind us.
Shoutout to Arbitrage Andy for letting us use the art - with our added spin.
Difference In Internet
Internet fifteen years ago
A much smaller, much tighter, much more sincere community. We could not put it any better. It was better overall, and everyone who took part on various forum boards in the early days or was active on Reddit or social media knows what we are talking about. The best way we could put it?
It was a different place.
Different in the sense that everyone was trying to be valuable to each other without having a profit on their mind. Popular were proud to say they understand something and could help you out. Egos were not as much as present - more anon profiles, and you knew where to go to get what you wanted.
Search engines were also decent - a basic search could get you what you wanted. Quite the opposite of what is happening today, where you must understand how to navigate the basic search to get what you want. The biggest difference? Internet was not available to everyone. Most can’t imagine that 15 years ago, no one had a personal computer in their pocket.
EDIT: The first iPhone came out in 2007. Technically this is where the "revolution" started. More or less 15 years - a rough number.
Internet today
Available to everyone. This is where we could stop. The feeling of tight community and support is gone. What’s left to add on top? The biggest search engine is unusable, and your results will likely be AI-generated. Not to mention that the general advice is full of fluff and will get you nowhere. Influencers who have popped up in the last few years are not helping the cause. It’s all based on lifestyle and materialistic exploitation that promises fast results without a real background to back it up.
Good luck finding something valuable on the web without years of experience.
Being inexperienced and trying to get the best information is not an easy job in 2024 - quite the opposite. You are in the hands of predators, and machines do content. Unfavorable position to be in. On the other part of the spectrum, the average internet user has never been more entitled. The abundance of mediocre information has caused solid harm to the market and the psychology of the average. We are not saying that all the free content is bad - quite the opposite of that.
It’s just that the highest chance you will get bombarded with content that has the highest budget to spend. Algorithms favor already established brands / personal brands - those with buying power. Result? Mediocrity.
Where does that bring us?
Internet Is Becoming Pay 2 Play
Paid Content
The evolution and mass availability of the internet has changed the average user. The average years ago was someone who was willing to work to get valuable information. Look for it, research it, and ask proper questions. The glory days of forums are behind us, and all those with experience and those memories understand our point here.
Average internet user today?
Quite different. The majority wants to be handheld and spoon-fed with action steps and all the information on the topic. Removing the researching and learning part out of it. Those already operating in the WiFi money-side income space understand what we discuss. The false Guru promises, constant noise, and mass availability of the internet have taken the quality down. There is too much noise going around.
No one should be surprised that the internet is turning Pay 2 Play.
Where does that bring us? There are not many choices left. The internet itself is not going anywhere that fast. It will come down to segmented groups sharing the same visions and ideas. Do you want good information? Get used to paying for it. Things are only going to get worse in that aspect. Worse?
Yes, for those not ready to invest to get more for themselves.
Those who think they deserve all the information for free and served on the plate. Extra points if they feel they are special. Most of those users will find themselves in an interesting place. One from where they will not be able to move forward. Reusing the same ideas and concepts, everyone else will be pushing. Getting stuck in the mediocrity loop. This is where the divide between those looking for handouts and those willing to risk a few bucks will happen. Some will realize that they are being held hostage by the scarcity mindset behind them.
What will we be doing with BOS Letter in the future?
We will use a similar approach to other creators we respect, such as BowTiedBull and Arbitrage Andy. Focusing on specific groups of individuals with grand schemes and bigger visions. Creating a tight community is one of the goals - something we are trying to pull off with our Telegram group. Those who are not afraid to invest a few bucks for information that will make them more efficient and make their life better. The best part is that it will help you create connections and networks to expand your operations. Making it a win-win in each case. Why?
Those same members are also serious about growing their operations, which makes it interesting for both parties. There is a good reason why country clubs are so popular, and it’s not always for the golf and the good wine. There is a value in the tight groups that share the same vision.
Leaving you with a brilliant quote straight from Andy…

Private Communities
We received comments on the above Twitter post saying, "It's all about private communities, not about paying for the content". That is true to some extent. Yet the most valuable communities are all built on trust. What does that mean?
You won’t be getting into any worthy one if you are not valuable to others.
Simple as that. If you think you have an unfair advantage because you found a free Telegram group inside someone's bio. You are in for the wake-up when you realize it is just a funnel - the same model we use to drive traffic. Smart ones realize they can’t fully rely on the algorithm to do the job - building on multiple platforms is necessary. Nothing is wrong with that, but it is something to keep in mind. Real private groups are all built on mutual respect and valuable connections.
How do you get the respect of others?
Help others expecting nothing in return. It is the easiest and most credible way to build a personal brand and open all the doors for you. The private communities are those you get invited to - not the ones you apply for. Should you strive to be in those? You bet. That is where most of the magic happens.
Conclusion: Do you want to surround yourself with winners and those who share the same vision as you? Putting aside $20 monthly will give you access to multiple trustworthy sources. Considering how the internet and the basic fluff information you will be bombarded with will get you nowhere. Another piece of the puzzle?
Start building a social proof. Help others on their journey with your expertise and grow. Build up a personal brand - you will find yourself in a position where you can access restricted information and be invited to all the groups worth being invited to. Connecting with others and joining those "private communities". The sooner you realize that paying for the information on the internet will be the new normal, the more time you will have to run around your peers.
