We were not sure if we should post this or not. This is off-topic, similar to what we did with the requested Google Trends article. At the same time, searching the web for quality material has never been harder. Imagine never finding quality reading material or something similar to what you should read this weekend. All because you got spammed with generic AI content.
First of all, at this point, we feel Google is not even trying to fight with the AI content. They do roll an update here and there. But nothing major so far. We could ask ourselves whether it is because they are also participating (Bard) or because they simply understand it’s too hard to fight. Who knows? We are still quite pessimistic about it and expect that there will be a big update. Which will cause a lot of damage to AI creators. In each case, knowing how to maneuver successfully around the web and how to get the most out of it will get you places. Not just places. But the information no one else has.
Layers And Searching Web Successfully
What happened to the web in the last few years? No one knows. At the same time, we blame it on AI content. No matter how much it helped bring things into motion and how much of the help it is in our lives. No one can deny that nothing can kill creativity as much as AI. We are not even considering the level of usage since the more you use it, the less of your own style you have. Before someone comments, "You can feed it your style and let it reproduce the content in that way", all readers here are quite intelligent. Understanding that is possible. Again, something is off with it, and one will easily catch it. If you took 15 minutes of your day and did a few random searches, we could argue you would mostly end up with generic AI content. Which is not something you want.
It’s fine if you are doing a generic search for 10 high-protein recipes. But take, for example, a specific take on industry, investments, or even politics. You do want individuals to have their own approach and take on it - something that is unique. We can bet that this is not something you will find anymore on the first page of Google. The average web search is all about the SEO technical part (playing the game on how to rank) + AI content. Ridiculous. The whole game came down to technical setup. Leaving nothing to creativity and real content.
Your best bet when it comes to searching the web successfully? Learning how to play layers. Treating web searches according to what you need. Need a basic recipe? Google will do a job. Want something more specific, strictly based on real human feedback? Add in certain keywords behind your search term. Want a rare PDF you can’t find anywhere? There is a solution for that as well. One who understands how to search the web for real information. Run laps around those who don’t. We are also incorporating some interesting foreign websites to explain a few different layers, methods, and tactics.
Using Google - Layer #1
Everyone does it. There is not much to add. Using only Google itself will get you nowhere in 2024. The web has never been worse, and the articles ranking on the first page are mostly written by AI. Why are they on the first page? They are on the first page because SEO plays a huge role now. SEO was also a big part of the game before - no denying it. But now things have turned even more in that technical sense. We are not experts in SEO by any means.
