Escape the Matrix
15: Not turning this into lifestyle Substack...
Hello ladies, gents, cartoon animals, and others.
Lifestyle article today. Can’t stop seeing the “escape the Matrix” term pop out all over the internet. No idea who made it popular Iman, Tate, or some other big “influencer”.
What most got wrong about the big concept behind “Escaping the Matrix” still surprises. Some say that the goal should be to get Lambo and a Penthouse. Others will say do everything opposite of what mainstream media tells you.
Would argue that the truth is in the middle.
In case you are too lazy to read or if you lost attention because we are going against the “Escape the Matrix ” feel free to finish reading off here. Still here?
Let’s start things with the perfect tweet from one of the most underrated Twitter profiles out there @FidelCacheFlow.
“Escaping The Matrix”
At this point, it’s impossible to open social media without seeing do x or do y to escape the Matrix. Often coming from young guns trying to prove something or someone. Nothing wrong with trying to push the “real” content out there. Since the majority of information out there is trash anyway. But we have to be honest with ourselves and get straight to the point. Anyone trying to convince you it’s possible to escape the Matrix is selling you something.
There is no Escaping the Matrix.
Everyone is jumping on the trending “term” to get themselves a few more clicks. Again nothing bad with that someone is making money off it. However, you have to realize it’s impossible. Your primary goal should not be to escape the Matrix. But get better at navigating. In case you decide to escape the Matrix your only option would be to cut off everything. Creating a self-sustainable farmhouse without any media access. Being completely unplugged. That seems like the only way to escape the Matrix - good luck with that.
Be honest with yourself. Each time you open up your browsers, you are playing into the Matrix. Each time you go to your fast food restaurant, you are playing into the Matrix. There is a zero chance most of us will give up on quite a few things in our daily lives. The better term instead of “escaping the matrix” would be “navigating the matrix”- sounds terrible when compared. Guess why no one talks about it? Because it doesn’t sell easily enough.
The Real Way To Navigate The Matrix
Since escaping the Matrix is impossible how do we navigate?
Get remote job
Start side businesses (online one if possible)
Move to a low-cost geographical “area”
Crush your 9-5
Scale your side business further
Fidel gave a good blueprint in the tweet above about what works.
Even if your career is not allowing you to have a remote job (completely fine) still make sure you start a side business. In college? Perfect make sure you land a position in the future so you will be able to work remotely - should be one of your goals when picking the career if you ask us.
The freedom you will start feeling once things start to take with your side business… It will allow you to use the IDGAF attitude in every part of your life. Bringing you 3x further than before - wish this was a joke. It’s not.
Extra steps to take to navigate Matrix better:
Ensure you always pay less tax
Having freedom- not being location-dependent
Reducing your stress - comes with side business if done right
Always invest your profit into new assets
Just a few ideas that come to mind immediately - quite a subjective topic based on your set of principles and long-term goals. The key here is to always look for real valuable information. The one that is often the opposite of what mainstream media tells you. Again this doesn’t mean you are escaping the Matrix. You are just navigating better than 80% of people through the Matrix.
The big idea behind “Escaping the Matrix” is great since most stuff out there is pure garbage. But at the same time, it’s impossible to escape the Matrix without going off the grid and living in the Amazonian forest at this point. Meaning that the whole idea and what is behind is a selling vehicle. Anyone stating that it’s possible to escape Matrix is trying to sell you something. Best you can do is grant yourself income independence and freedom. Funny both come from working remotely and starting your side business as soon as possible. Maybe it’s not that complicated? Who knows.
To finish off we all are “slaves” in certain areas of our daily lives. “Slave” is a hard term but the one that fits the idea behind “The Matrix” best. Some would categorize you as a “slave” working 9 -5 while others could categorize you as a “slave” if you are eating processed food. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Instead of “escaping the Matrix” your main goal should be learning to “game the system”. Better said learning to position yourself to be in the most favorable position you can be.
Navigating the Matrix > Escaping the Matrix
Doing small things adds up in the end. Making yourself be in a better life position vs the average Joe. The topic for another time would be how some things are connected and how life works. Maybe this all is Matrix? No one knows. Until then remember “escaping the Matrix” is a term someone uses to get a few clicks. Remember there is no escaping only getting better at navigating.
